Apple

Malus domestica White Transparent

  • Availability:            Click for details
  • Introduced:            1800's
  • Origin:                     Russia or Baltic States
  • Use:                         Cultinary
  • Pollination Group:   1
  • Pick:                         early to mid August
  • Season:                    early to mid August
  • A cooker, producing a sweet frothy puree, when eaten it has a slight acidic sweet juicy taste, may be too sharp for some. The flesh is white. The apples ripen from green with a white bloom becoming more yellowy and whiter as they ripen. Has a tendency to fall from the tree so need to get your eye in as when to pick.
Said to have biennial tendencies by some, but have not experienced this character.
